Our Idiot Brother is a nice movie. A sweet and honest film...much like Paul Rudd's laid-back, hippyesque character. A guy so naive and trusting that he sells pot to a uniformed policeman who claims he has had a rough week. Rudd is the brother of: Banks, an overzealous writer willing to bend the rules to get an exclusive story; Deschanel, a not-very-funny lesbian comedian who also likes boys, and Mortimer, an overprotective, overbearing mom married to one of the worst guys in the world.
Rudd states the obvious. He points out flaws. He makes not prejudgments. His sisters resent him. They get very perturbed when he makes them more aware of their flaws. Is involvement/interference is a positive...but, they don't see this very easily.
I liked Our Idiot Brother and thought it was well cast and enjoyed the message.
