This worthy cast makes up an interesting mix of characters and a watchable movie. Hopkins dumps his wife and begins to look for love in all the wrong places. His ex-wife, in despair, puts her faith in a phony fortune-teller. Brolin keeps trying his hand as a novelist without success, and eventually resorts to stealing the work of a writer pronounced dead. To spice up his futile hours of unproductive writing, he makes a play for the young girl across the way who doesn’t pull the blinds down. Watts, his wife, leaves him and develops an interest in her boss, Banderas. As you might expect in a Woody Allen movie, none of these characters achieve fulfillment.
