Secretariat

Rating: 8
Starring: Diane Lane, John Malkovich, Dylan Walsh, Fred Thompson
Genre: Adult Drama

This is an upbeat, good old fashioned movie. You know that Secretariat is a super horse that won the Triple Crown; yet you stay rivited on the suspenseful action of every race. Lane plays Penny Chenery who takes over her father's Virginia horse farm and resists pressures from her husband and borther to sell the horse to pay estate taxes at the recommendation of Bull Hancock (played by Thompson).

She hires eccentric trainer Malkovich after firing the farm's corrupt trainer. Lane, as usual, is sparkling.
