Genre: Mature Audience, Drama
This is the profile of one screwed-up guy, Roger Greenberg, played by Stiller. He has just gotten out of mental rehab, and his wealthy brother enlists him to house-sit in Los Angeles suburbs while on vacation. Greenberg reconnects with some of his former friends and manages to alienate them all. He establishes a relationship with Gerwig, whose pleasant demeanor is hopeful, but he goes out of his way to insult and turn her off. He is a pretty unlikeable person. The trouble watching this movie is that there is nobody you really root for, except perhaps Gerwig. All in all, things are depressing, except for a few occasional laughs. The reviews are generally positive, but I don't think it's a "must-see." However, Stiller does a good job in breaking out of his stereotypical comedic roles.
