This movie is up your alley if you believe that 9/11 was engineered by the Bush Adminstration; that the moon landing was a hoax; that FDR knowingly allowed Pearl Harbor to happen; and that Princess Diana's death was no accident. If, on the other hand, you're not into conspiracy theories, maybe this one is not for you. McGregor plays a writer who is finishing up the memoirs of a British prime minister (Brosnan) who bears a striking similarity to Tony Blair, after the previous writer has been found dead on a Massachusetts beach. Once McGregor begins his job, strange and mysterious things happen as the prime minister is called before the World Courts for crimes against humanity. The favorite whipping boy of the conspiracy theorists, the CIA, gets thrown into the picture. There is much intrigue and suspense, but not much that is plausible. I was disappointed since the reviews were favorable and I was looking forward to a good movie. However, the cast is top-drawer, and some may differ from my take.
