Bening and Moore are married with a teen aged son and daughter, having been fathered by a sperm donor. The son manages to locate his donor father, Ruffalo. Things get complicated when the family bonds with Ruffalo, especially when he hires Moore to work for him at his organic vegetable garden. Bening plays a doctor, a controlling perfectionist, while Moore is less organized and has yet to find a successful career. Ruffalo is something of a free spirit and gets around on a motorcycle.
The two kids seem reasonably well adjusted, hence the title of the movie as they get reconciled to the dynamic among the three parents.The movie doesn't go overboard in drawing the characters as it could have with a story line like this one. There is some good humor and scenes of both kinds of sex.
