Most of us know that Amelia Earheart mysteriously disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in July 1937 as she attempted to circle the globe. I had looked forward to this story of her life and death, but my expectations were dampened by reviews that were lukewarm at best. I found the movie interesting, although it was not especially well put together and some things left me confused. The plane and Amelia and her navigator were never found. The mystery remains. Was the navigator too hung over to function effectively? What role did communications failures play? Hilary Swank bears a striking resemblance to Amelia, and seemed a good fit for the role.
