Rating: 6
Starring: Jamie Foxx, Robert Downey, Jr.
Plot: This movie is focused on the relationship between a Los Angeles Times columnist (Downey) and a homeless schizophrenic (Jamie Foxx). Downey discovers Foxx on the streets, and learns Foxx is a rare musical talent who once attended Juilliard as a celovirtuoso. Downey writes about him in the Times, and pursues things further. Hopefully, Foxx will turn his life around, but since this is based on a true story, it's hard to sugar-coat the reality of his mental disorder. The lives of the homeless are pictured graphically in a way that may disturb us. The movie is well done and well acted. But it is pretty slow moving and seems to bog down at times.
