Plot: Harvey (Hoffman) makes a living writing background music for TVcommercials . He goes to Londaon for his daughter's wedding and finds himself the "odd man out"at all the surrounding ctivities. The daughter prefers that her stepfather give her away.
Deciding to leave immediately after the wedding, he finds his flight cancelled. At the same time a call on his cell phone tells him he has lost his job. all in all its been a pretty bad day. Then he mets Thompson in the airport lounge. Her life is not exactly all sea shells and balloons either. So the two of them wander through London, and well ---you get the picture.
This is a refreshingly appealing movie aimed at a middle-aged audience.
