Leap Year

Rating: 5
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Starring: Amy Adams, Matthew Goode

Adams is anxious to get married, but her boyfriend won't pop the question. So she decides to follow him to Ireland, where he is attending a convention of cardiologists. The big idea here is that she understands that it's OK for a woman to propose on Feb. 29th of a leap year. She gets stranded in a small town a few miles away from Dublin. She talks Goode into driving her there. The screen writers seemed to have made this story up as it went along. A sequence of very improbable events takes place. Amy Adams is an appealing actress with a good range of abilities, but it's not easy for her to carry this movie. If you've got one hour & forty minutes to use up, you could be entertained. But don't expect to rank it very high among the better movies.
