This is a riveting movie, but not easy to watch. You probably won't want to see it a second time when it comes to TV. Harrelson and Foster are assigned the grim task of notifying the next-of-kin of battlefield deaths. Herrelson, the senior of the two, insists on going by the book without any trace of compassion. Foster begins to let the job get to him, and soon strikes up a relationship with Morton, widown of one of the fallen soldiers. You'll probably find it hard to develop much affection for Harrelson, while Foster is a more sympathetic figure (Why do I think roles of this kind come naturally to Harrelson?) I dont rate the movie quite as high as the critics.
