Starring: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett
On the day World War I ended, November 11, 1918, a baby is left on the step of a retirement home. This baby is different from any other -- a withered old man in an infant body. He is cared for by a loving woman who finds him. He leaves the home after his 17th year of aging in reverse, and his subsequent years are experienced in full. He falls in love with Cate Blanchet, who ages as he gets younger.
I feared that the 2 hour, 48 minute running time would be wearisome, but it wasn't. The film is based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story. It is well told, and held my interest throughout.
