Appaloosa

Harris and Mortensen are partners hired in the 1880s by the town of Appaloosa in the territory of New Mexico to establish law and order.  Jeremy Irons plays a ruthless ranch owner whose gang of thugs has taken over the town. 

 

Renee Zellweger comes to town and captures the heart of Harris, but she turns out to be a woman of easy virture.  Up to this point, it's pretty much like an old-fashioned Western but the latter part of the movie is not exactly vintage Roy Rogers or Gene Autry.  This is not a great movie, but a watchable one.
