Set in 1949-50, Cooper's middle-aged character falls in love with younger McAdams and wants to get rid of his wife. Enter Brosnan, introduced to McAdams by his good friend Cooper, who also becomes attracted to McAdams. Numerous twists and turns follow, handled with a touch of humor and an interesting ending.
This is a well conceived story, well told. One of the more entertaining movies I have seen.
